A business line in Lévis: one area code covers both shores
Lévis and Québec City share the 418 family. What that changes for a business serving both sides of the river, and what to settle before choosing a number.

A Lévis business that also serves Québec City does not need two numbers to look local on both sides of the river. Lévis and Québec belong to the same area-code family (418, 581, 367), and a customer in Sainte-Foy reads a 418 as theirs just as a customer in Saint-Romuald does.
That is the opposite of what companies sitting between two large markets usually face, and it is an advantage that often goes unused.
What 418 actually covers
The 418 family reaches well past the immediate region: Québec City, Lévis, Chaudière-Appalaches, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Côte-Nord, Gaspésie and Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. Chicoutimi, Rimouski, Montmagny, Sainte-Marie and Rivière-du-Loup share the same prefix.
If your market is eastern Quebec, one number is enough to never look out of town. It does not extend to Montreal: a Montreal customer reads 418 as "somewhere else".
A practical note: a new number will most likely be a 581 or a 367, not a 418. The 418 pool ran dry years ago. All three cover the same territory and all dial as ten digits. The detail is in Quebec's area codes.
What matters more than the area code
Two things, and both are settled before you buy a number.
The language of the greeting. If you serve the public in Quebec, your greeting falls under the Charter of the French Language. That is not a setting, it is an obligation, and it applies whatever your area code. See Law 96 and your phone system.
The number you already have. If your business has been running for years, the number printed on your vehicles is worth more than any new one. It moves: see moving your business number.
Serving both shores without doubling the structure
If you do want to separate the two markets (one number advertised in Québec, another in Lévis), both can land in the same call flow, the same greeting and the same team. What doubles is the display, not the organisation.
The reverse works too: one number, and business hours that reflect your real schedule rather than nobody's.
What we are, and what we are not
We supply numbers in 418, 581 and 367 and set them up with you. We have no office in Lévis or anywhere else in Quebec: service is remote, there is no installation visit, and a local number stays a local number, not a branch.
If you want an installer who comes to the site, that is not us, and it is better said now.
